Question

Just saw this on the AG website:
http://store.americangirl.com/pls/ag...groupid=437633

The site says the ark is wooden! I wouldn't think they could say this if it weren't, because of false advertising. But even the PS's have been saying it's plastic, right?

That's what everybody was told, it was plastic. JRTMom just did a review of it, and she said if it wasn't wood, it was a REALLY good fake.

I got the ark yesterday. It's missing a piggie, so I'll exchange it. The animals are resin, very good quality. Not plasticy or Barbie style at all. The ark itself, I think it is wood. It's painted-- and it's definitely painted-- really heavily, but it feels like wood. It's not the same consistency as the animals, and just doesn't say "plastic" at all. Perhaps it is like Sam's sleigh (I haven't seen it in person)? If that ark is plastic, it's some darn fine, heavy plastic, that's for sure!

Anyone willing to buy one and take a saw to it?

Wooden, as a descripter, may not technically be false advertising if it is designed to look like wood.

Lots of things are described as "golden" or "silvery" etc. when they are just plastic or gold colored.

Sounds like the ark is nice quality either way.

I saw the new plastic guitar go for over $30 on ebay today. The seller's pic made it look really plastic.

FWIW, DH agrees. The ark is wood or wood composite. He said "wood composite" could mean that it has some polyeurithane (sp?!) in it, but it's too heavy and "doesn't sound like plastic" (he tapped and knocked on it). He said the animals are resin, and commented they were a good quality.

I purchased this from my PS...it should be coming soon. I'll take pics and give a review of it as soon as I get it!

PS...I noticed that the website said WOOD too!
